Happy Solstice

Happy Solstice Friends
May You Find Warmth and Hope in the Returning Sun

Oak logs will warm you well.
That are old and dry;
Logs of pine will sweetly smell
But sparks will fly.Birch-logs will burn too fast,
Chestnuts scarce at all;
Hawthorne-logs are good to last
Cut them in the fall.
Holly-logs will burn like wax,
You may burn them green
Elm-logs like to smouldering flax,
No flame to be seen.
Beech-logs for winter time,
Yew logs as well,
Green elder logs are a crime
for any man to sell.
Pear-logs and apple-logs,
They will scent your room,
Cherry-Logs across the dogs
Smell like flower of broom.
Ash-logs, smooth and gray,
Burn them green and old,
Buy up all that come your way
Their worth their weight in gold.

:::..:::7:::..:::

It's here.

Seven is here.

With huge snow flurries and a full moon.

Which, the amazing boy said, is the universe singing happy birthday to him.

I think he's right.

I know he's right.

I love 7, always have.

I love the full moon, I love this boy...

for it all to be happening on the same day is overwhelmingly beautiful.

Happy birthday beautiful, intense, sweet, brilliant, little love.......

 Happy seventh, full moon birthday, I love you.

sandy update: We're all fine, our neighborhood has trees on houses, cars and power lines. Some have power, we do not, but it's no problem. We are so fortunate, we have a generator to power the essentials, no trees on us, a clear yard to play in, kale in the garden and plenty on hand. Please send all of your healing energy to the families on the coast and in NYC who were not spared, 20 miles away there is devastation.

.:::seventh:::.

we're in our seventh trip around the sun with our little man. we were married for seven years when he made us parents. seven is my favorite number. you may already know how i feel about 28. there's 4 in our family, that's perfect math as far as i'm concerned. the perfect reason to celebrate and enjoy all the sevens happening around here right up till that big day in november when he wears this magical number for a year.

we had a BIG party to celebrate the first one

.......

celebrated his seventh season of peace, joy and love.

.......

seven of snow. he loves snow.

.......

he's in his seventh summer.

seventh season of beach-going.

(and of those trunks... )
.......

is in his seventh season as a sailor.

.......

seven seasons of hiking

.......

still a voracious reader. i used to read to him while he grew inside of me. currently we have 56 books checked out, mostly about hall of fame baseball players.

.......

in his seventh year of his favorite food. (technically more perhaps, it was my favorite thing to eat while pregnant with him)

.......

and now i must stop this. i started putting these together a month ago, i had been loving thinking about all the sevens. i started looking through the photographs of when he was little and i wanted to stay there for days. everyone is right; it goes so fast. i need to come back to the present so i don't blink and it's gone. i'm going to go enjoy the rest of the sevens yet to come and celebrate this little man of mine.
