goggles

so if maple syrup and ketchup are food groups at our house; goggles are a wardrobe staple. they are right there with striped pajamas, crowns, capes and rain boots. they love, love, LOVE goggles.

goggles complete superhero costumes.

are handy up on your head for quick use in a pinch.

for x ray vision. as in "wobble goggles"

making the world look blue.

they're good for keeping snow out of your eyes.

for cleaning the bottom of boats. or pretending to be like daddy cleaning the bottom of a boat.

to dress up green polka dots.

for getting closer to using them in actual water.

for busting out of sing sing...? or onto broadway?

typical breakfast attire.

as safety glasses...kind of.

and sometimes we even go swimming with them.

12 on the 12th

the 12th of september was our 12 anniversary. we got to spend the day together...alone. we don't get a lot of alone time, especially not in big chunks. we went sailing, which we have not done just the two of us ever on our own boat. it was bliss. wind, river, trees, trains, bridges, silence, each other. happy 12 love.

she's 2. she's sweet. she's opinionated. she's smart, strong and beautiful. she's never had a haircut. and yesterday she asked me,

"mom, can you make a ponytail in the back of me please"

why yes, yes i can.

it was hard to stop hugging and kissing her long enough to make that ponytail.
